Privacy
When you add the badge, your photo is opened and composited by your own browser, on your own device. The finished image is saved straight to your downloads. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool still works exactly the same.
Because of that, we hold no personal data about you. There is nothing for us to share, sell, hand over, or lose in a breach. We do not set cookies and we do not run analytics or tracking of any kind.
This site is published by Vote.org, but it is a separate site: it sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The registration links go to vote.org, and once you follow one you are on that site, under its privacy policy rather than this page.
If this ever changes—for example if we add privacy-respecting traffic measurement—this page will say so, and it will say what is measured.
Terms
Open to Vote is free to use and provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We can’t promise it works on every device or browser, and we don’t control LinkedIn. Their upload flow can change without notice.
Your photo stays yours. You keep every right in it that you had before. We never receive a copy, so there is nothing for us to claim, license, or use.
Please don’t use the badge in a way that implies Open to Vote endorses a political party, a candidate, or a ballot measure. It doesn’t, and it never will.

Nothing on this site is legal or voting advice. Confirm registration rules and deadlines with your state or local election office.

We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability. Once you follow a link you are on their site, under their terms and their privacy policy, not ours.
The Vote.org name and logo appear here because Vote.org publishes this site. Every other organization is named only to say where a link goes, without their logo or branding; if any of them would rather we linked differently, tell us at hello@opentovote.org and we will.

The Open to Vote badge artwork, wordmark, and site copy are © 2026 Vote.org.
You may use the badge free of charge, without asking us first. Put it on your profile photo. Share it. Encourage your team, your members, or your readers to do the same. Individuals, companies, nonprofits, schools, and membership organizations are all welcome, and no permission or license fee is required.
Two conditions:
- Don’t use it in a way that suggests Open to Vote endorses a party, a candidate, or a ballot measure. What you post alongside it is up to you.
- Don’t alter the artwork, and don’t present it as your own.
The typefaces are Archivo and Public Sans, both under the SIL Open Font License. Their licenses ship with the site.
